Signature cakes, custom cakes and cupcakes at Lorraine’s Bake Shop are designed for birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, retirements, and all of life’s sweet celebrations. This guide will help you understand what we offer, what we don’t, and how to request a quote with confidence.

All orders require a minimum of two weeks notice.

What We offer

Signature Bakery Cakes:

Well known cakes such as Carrot, German Chocolate, and more. These are cakes that come in the traditional way that they are known for. There is no customizing this option.

Custom Cakes:

Our custom cakes are known for their clean lines, soft textures, and warm, classic style. We specialize in:

• Smooth buttercream finishes

• Simple, elegant piping

• Light florals (buttercream)

• Minimalist designs

• Soft color palettes

• Small themed accents (within our skillset)

• Cupcakes by dozen, available in Standard and a few Signature flavor tiers. Simple, theme-coordinated frosting for custom cakes only.

Premium Flavors:

These flavors can be made in any size that we offer and contain fresh fruit components. Some will have a classic pairing of frosting while others may offer a choice of frosting. Flavors include Strawberry, Lemon, Lemon Blueberry, and more!

What We Don’t Offer

To protect our time, energy, and quality, we do not take on:

• Fondant-covered cakes

• Sculpted or 3D cakes

• Hyper-realistic designs

• Extremely detailed character cake

• Toppers or stacked figurines

• Multi-tier wedding cakes

• Designs requiring structural engineering or internal supports

• Cupcake add-ons or custom decoration, we do not offer toppers, sculpted elements, fondant pieces, or detailed custom cupcake designs.

This helps ensure every cake we make is something we can confidently and beautifully execute.

Custom Cake Sizes & Servings

All round cakes are made as a standard 2-layer cake.

You may add up to 2 additional layers for a total of a 4-layer tall cake.

Available Sizes

• 4” (serves 4-6)

• 6” (serves 8-10)

• 9” (serves 16-22)

• 10” (serves 26-38)

• 12” (serves 36-56)

Serving sizes are approximate and depend on how the cake is cut.

Traditional party‑style slices are larger, while event‑style slices are smaller and yield more servings.

Single-Tier Custom Cake Price Range

Ranging from $15.00 to $120.00. This is just the cake price range; some details will add extra costs.

Premium Flavors

Fresh fruit, specialty fillings, or signature frostings. Add from $4.00 up to $15 to base price depending on cake size

Signature Bakery Cakes

Our Signature Bakery Cakes come in 9” and 2 layers only and start at $68.00

Cupcakes

Cupcakes can be added to any custom cake order or ordered on their own and must be ordered by the dozen. We will not split a dozen with any more than two flavors. Cupcakes follow the same Standard Flavor Tier as our cakes, but do not follow the design tiers.

Flavors are grouped into tiers based on ingredients and preparation. Not every cake flavor or signature can be made into cupcakes. We will confirm after reviewing request.

Dietary Modifiers (Vegan & Gluten-Friendly)

**Please note our gluten-friendly options are made without gluten ingredients, but our kitchen is not a certified gluten-free facility.

Some cakes and cupcakes can be made vegan or gluten-friendly upon request. These options use specialty ingredients and require additional preparation time.

Upcharge applies:

• Cupcakes: +$5.00 per dozen

• Cakes: +$10-$20 depending on size

• Vegan & Gluten-free: combined upcharge applies

Lead Time

We require a minimum of two weeks’ notice for all orders. More time is always appreciated, especially for weekends and busy seasons. If we’re fully booked for your date, we’ll let you know right away.

Confirmation

When you submit an order form, it is merely a request, not a confirmed order. Your order is confirmed and scheduled once payment is received. Certain orders may require a deposit, that will confirm and schedule your order.

Pickup Details

All cakes are picked up at Lorraine’s Bake Shop on Dexter Avenue. Pickup times will be confirmed when your order is approved. We’ll also provide simple transport and storage tips to help keep your cake safe on the way to your celebration.

Ready to Order?

Once your order request is received and processed, you will receive an email with pricing. Once you confirm that price, you will receive and invoice for payment. Payment confirms that your request is now an order and is confirmed and placed on our schedule. If that does not happen, you do not have an order.
